Therefore, the two are of different families and genera.

Verbena is a tall plant that can be twice as tall as sage. Its leaves are simple, opposite, (long) oval, and densely hairy. Its inflorescence is spike-shaped, with blue-purple flowers being the most common. Its corolla is lip-shaped, with short filaments, and its flowering and fruiting period is slightly earlier. Sage has an upright tree shape, with a quadrangular stem with little or no hair. The inflorescence is terminal, umbellate and elongated into a raceme or panicle. The flowers are lighter in color, such as light red, light purple, light blue or white.

Sage often grows in hidden grass or under the shade of trees. It is mostly distributed in the south of my country and rarely seen in the north.
