How to grow potted jade plants? Can they be grown in water?

1. How to breed

1. Choose a flowerpot: To care for jade plants in pots, you must first choose a suitable flowerpot. The size should match the plant. Generally, the diameter should be kept at around 16 to 28 cm. The material must ensure good air permeability, and the bottom of the flowerpot must have drainage holes.

2. Prepare the soil: Jade plant can tolerate barrenness and is not picky about soil quality. Provide loose, fertile, well-drained sandy loam soil. It can be mixed with garden soil, leaf mold, river sand, and organic fertilizer.

3. Timely pruning: Potted jade plants require aesthetics, so they must be pruned in a timely manner. Cut off dry and diseased branches and leaves, and appropriately thin out branches and leaves that grow too densely.

4. Reasonable watering: Jade plant is very drought-resistant. Water it in time during the growing period to keep it moist. Do not allow water to accumulate and cause the soil in the pot to be too wet. You can water it more in summer, but you need to control the amount of watering in winter.

5. Top dressing in time: In addition to the base fertilizer in the potting soil, top dressing is also needed in time during the later growth period, and top dressing should be done regularly during the vigorous growth stage.

6. Change pots regularly: Jade plant grows very fast. As it continues to grow, the potting soil needs to be changed every spring.

2. Can it be raised in water?

Jade plant is usually grown in soil, but it can also be grown in water.
