How to grow pansy

How to grow pansy

1. Soil

The soil for pansy growth needs to be fertile, loose, well-drained, and have a pH of 5.4-7.4.

2. Lighting

It is very sensitive to light. When there is sufficient light, its stems and leaves are lush, the flowers are dense, the flowering time will be advanced, and the flowering period will be longer. However, insufficient light will lead to poor flowering, and it needs more than 4 hours of light a day.

3. Moisture

It prefers a relatively moist soil environment and is not drought-tolerant. When growing, you should pay attention to keeping the soil moist, but not waterlogged. It is better to keep the soil slightly dry during the seedling stage to prevent moisture from causing diseases and pests.

4. Temperature

The optimum temperature for its growth is 15-25℃, and the suitable temperature for its growth at night is 3-5℃. Do not place the plant in an environment above 25℃ for a long time, otherwise it will be difficult for the plant to bloom and will cause it to grow too tall. Even if it bears fruit, its seeds will be poorly developed and difficult to survive.

5. Fertilization

When applying fertilizer, pay attention to applying thin fertilizers frequently. Nitrogen fertilizers, such as urea, can be applied at the beginning; phosphorus fertilizers can be applied near the flowering period, and 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate aqueous solution can be applied during the bud formation period. After flowering, reduce fertilization and maintain in time.
