When does lily bloom?

When does lily bloom?

1. Its flowering season

Lilies like to live in a humid environment and need plenty of sunlight. If it can be given suitable growing conditions, then July to October every year is its flowering season, but if it is not well maintained, its flowering period will be shortened and even the number of flowers will be affected, so you must pay more attention during normal maintenance.

2. Artificially adjust the flowering season

With the advancement of breeding technology, the flowering season can now be artificially adjusted to November to December, or January to February. The specific methods are as follows:

1. When artificially controlling its flowering time, you must always pay attention to the flower buds. When the flower buds grow to 1 to 2 cm high, if there is not enough light at this time, it is easy for the buds to wither.

2. Usually from the end of October to March of the following year, it will be prone to bud loss. At this time, you can use artificial lighting to supplement the light. That is, prepare an ordinary waterproof incandescent lamp, and add light to it before the flower buds grow to 0.5 to 1, and the time will continue until harvest. Then when the temperature is at 16 degrees, the lighting time can be maintained for 6 weeks, from 8 pm to 4 am every day, which can effectively prevent it from bud loss and early flowering.

3. In order to improve the quality of flowers, later light and temperature are also very important. When the flower buds are in the differentiation and development stage, the daytime temperature can be controlled at 21 to 23 degrees, and the night temperature can be controlled at 15 to 17 degrees. In addition, if you want it to bloom in November or December, you can store the bulbs at 13 degrees for 2 weeks in advance, and then place them at 3 degrees for 4 to 5 weeks; if you want it to bloom in January or February, you can first place it at 13 degrees for 2 weeks, and then place it at 8 degrees for 4 to 5 weeks.
