Flowering period of Gardenia jasminoides

Flowering period of Gardenia jasminoides

1. Flowering time

The flowering period of large-leaf gardenia is from March to July every year, and the peak flowering period is from June to July every year. It usually starts to bud in March, and its flower buds can be seen on the plant in April.

In May, the flower buds on the plant will open one after another, and in June, its flower buds will open in large numbers. The white flowers will hang on the branches, exuding a faint fragrance that is very intoxicating. In July, its flowers will gradually wither.

2. Notes

Before it blooms, around April or May, it is best to add some liquid fertilizer to it so that it can better store the nutrients needed for flowering. Try to choose phosphorus and potassium fertilizers as fertilizers, which can promote flowering. If you only add nitrogen fertilizers, it is easy to cause it to grow but not bloom.
