Difference Between Muskmelon and Cantaloupe

1. Fruit Difference

The fruit of cantaloupe has five carpels and is relatively round. Each carpel has a false septum in the middle. The peel feels very smooth and looks golden yellow in appearance. Some are white or light green. It has longitudinal grooves or markings, and the flesh can be a variety of colors, including white, green or yellow.

The shape of melon fruit varies depending on the variety, generally spherical or oblong. It has a pointed tip and a blunt base with no edges.

2. Skin Difference

The skin of cantaloupe is relatively thin and does not break easily.

The skin of the melon is very thick and it is easy to crack when it is ripe.
