Difference Between Pear Trees and Apple Trees

Difference Between Pear Trees and Apple Trees

1. Different plant types

The bark on the outside of a pear tree is darker in color, and the color of an old tree will be darker. The branches have a relatively weak ability to grow, so the number of branches may be relatively small. The crown looks very sparse, but the layers are well-organized. Individual branches are relatively brittle and easily broken, and the roots under the trunk are black.

The outer trunk of the apple tree is lighter in color, a light dark gray, and will have a certain degree of shedding. The branches are soft, the crown is round, and the roots under the trunk are reddish-brown in color.

2. Different leaves

The leaves of the pear tree feel smooth, with blunt serrations on the edges. When the trunk is young, there are short soft hairs on both sides of the leaves, but as they grow, they disappear and become hairless.

The leaves of the apple tree are different from the former. They have soft hairs on the surface and are relatively rough.

3. Different flowers and fruits

The flowers of the pear tree are white and look relatively pure. This tree needs to be cultivated for three years before it can bear fruit, and the fruit is a pear, which is white or yellow in color.

The flowers of the apple tree are red or pink and the color is very delicate. It takes a long time to cultivate, about 5 years before it can bear fruit, and the fruit is red.
