The difference between native cinnamon and cinnamon

1. Differences in plants

Cinnamon is a medium-large tree with a trunk height of about 12 meters. It has a pleasant fragrance, and its branches and leaves are relatively slender without any small hairs.

The trunk height of Osmanthus fragrans is about 10 to 15 meters, the diameter is 30 to 35 centimeters, and the trunk bark is red or reddish brown.

2. The difference of leaves

The leaves of Cinnamon bark are slender in shape, 8 to 12 cm long, 2.5 to 5.5 cm wide, hairless on the upper side, grayish white on the lower side, and the petiole is about 1 cm long.

The osmanthus fragrans is more oval, 7 to 10 cm long and 3 to 3.5 cm wide. It is a brighter green on the top and a darker gray-green on the bottom.

3. The difference of flowers

The pedicels of Cinnamon are shorter and more slender, 8 to 12 mm long.

The pedicel of Osmanthus fragrans is relatively long, about 1.5 to 3 cm long.
