Difference between allspice and pimento

Difference between allspice and pimento

1. Difference of blades

The leaves of allspice are leathery, oblong, and shiny. The leaves of the fragrant fruit are ovate-triangular in outline, 3-4 times pinnate-lobed, with 4-5 pairs of pinnae, which are ovate-lanceolate. The leaf shapes of the two are completely different.

2. The difference between flowers

Allspice flower clusters grow in the leaf axils. The flowers are small, the corolla is white and fragrant. The fragrant fruit has compound umbels that grow laterally or terminally, and the color of the flowers is the same as the former, which is white.

3. Fruit Difference

The fruit of allspice is a spherical berry with a light green color that turns dark green when ripe. It has a rough skin with a small protrusion on the top. The fruit of the fragrant fruit is oblong.
