1. Leaf Difference

The leaves of the hairy radish are hard, papery, ovate-lanceolate or lanceolate in shape, with a long and gradually pointed tip and a blunt or rounded base. They are about 8 to 15 cm long and 2.5 to 5 cm wide, with entire margins.

The leaves of wild peony are hard and papery, ovate or broadly ovate, with an acute apex. The base of the leaves is shallowly cordate or nearly round, about 4 to 10 cm long and 2 to 6 cm wide, with entire margins.

2. Flower Differences

The umbel inflorescence of Hairy Cabbage is terminal, the bracts of the flowers are halberd-shaped, membranous, and sharp at the apex, the pedicel is about 5 mm long, the calyx tube is 1 to 2 cm long, 1 to 2 cm in diameter, with 5 lobes, the petals are pink or purple-red, usually 5 petals, and are broadly obovate.

The wild peony umbel inflorescence grows at the top of the branches, with 3 to 5 flowers. The petals are rose red or pink, obovate, and 3 to 4 cm long.
