The cultivation methods and precautions of bougainvillea

The cultivation methods and precautions of bougainvillea

1. Soil

Bougainvillea does not have too high requirements for the soil, as long as the soil is not poorly drained, it can be used. It is best to use loose soil with strong drainage. Humus soil, original soil and sandy soil can be mixed in a ratio of 2:2:1 for use.

2. Temperature

The breeding temperature should be maintained at 15-30℃ as much as possible, but when the temperature in summer is higher than 35℃, it should be cooled down by watering, ventilation, etc. In winter, placing it indoors can meet the temperature requirements as long as it is not lower than 5℃.

3. Loosening the soil

The cultivation soil is prone to compaction. In order not to affect the growth of bougainvillea, it is necessary to loosen the soil on time. If the soil is too compacted, water will easily accumulate in the pot. In addition, the root system of the plant grows very fast, so it is best to change the potting soil once a year or so.

4. Lighting

It likes sunlight and should be placed in a place with sufficient sunlight during its growth period. If the breeding environment is too dark, its growth will be poor and its flowering will be affected. After entering winter, it can be placed in the sun all day, ensuring no less than 8 hours of light per day.

5. Notes

During the growth period of the plant, it is important to prune it in time to facilitate the growth of side branches, but the extent of pruning should not be too large each time. After spring, you can cut off diseased branches, weak branches and crossed branches to reduce nutrient consumption.
