The breeding methods and precautions of Chinese giant thorn

The breeding methods and precautions of Chinese giant thorn

1. Breeding methods

1. Soil: When cultivating, you should use soil suitable for the growth of Clerodendrum thomsoniae. It is best to use slightly acidic soil with good air permeability. If you prepare the soil yourself, you can mix leaf mold, garden soil and river sand in a ratio of 2:2:1.

2. Light: During its continuous growth process, it must not lack light. An environment that is too dark will directly affect its flowering. In the hot summer, shade should be provided in time, otherwise the strong light will burn the leaves of the plant.

3. Water: During the peak growing season, the plant requires a lot of water. The soil should be kept slightly moist and the amount of water should be controlled. Too much water will cause root rot. However, you should water more often in the summer and pay attention to ventilation, and water sparingly during the winter.

4. Fertilization: Fertilization should be carried out appropriately. It can be applied once every 15 days or so. The amount of fertilizer should not be too large, and the number of fertilizations does not need to be too frequent. Before flowering, you can apply more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers.

2. Precautions

1. Flower pot: The pot should be changed once every one or two years, and the time should be chosen in spring or after the flowers have faded.

2. Pruning: During the growth period, pinching should be done to promote better growth of branches, otherwise the plant shape will be relatively tall and affect the appearance.
