When is the season when apples ripen?

1. Maturity Time

Apples mostly ripen in autumn. There are many varieties of apples on the market, and they are grown in different areas, so the time at which they ripen varies greatly. Some species will grow and mature very early, around July; while others will grow and mature around September. If it is planted in the area north of the Yangtze River, the maturity period will be relatively late, mostly around October-November.

Nowadays, you can see apples on sale no matter what season it is, and that's because they ripen at different times. Generally speaking, late-ripening apple varieties are harvested and stored, and then sold the following year.

2. Pay attention to maintenance

Before apples are ripe and harvested, their flowers and fruits will fall several times. The first and second times are caused by insufficient nutrients, and the third time is caused by the apples competing for nutrients with each other. When cultivating, you should pinch and prune the branches in time to control the growth of new branches, and also supplement nutrients appropriately.
