Cultivation methods and precautions of Ageratum

Cultivation methods and precautions of Ageratum

1. Soil

When choosing soil for ageratum, the most important thing to pay attention to is good soil drainage, because it is very afraid of waterlogging. Most of the time, sandy loam is used because this kind of soil is loose and breathable, which can help it drain better and greatly reduce the possibility of root rot.

2. Watering

When it is in the seedling stage, you should water it as much as possible. It likes a growing environment with higher humidity, which can ensure that the seedlings grow better and faster. At the same time, when the weather is dry in summer, you should also pay attention to watering more. Note that moist soil and water accumulation are two different things, and drainage cannot be ignored.

3. Temperature

It prefers a high temperature environment. The best breeding temperature is 19-26℃. This temperature must be strictly controlled, because when the temperature is too high or too low, it will stop growing. The highest temperature is 35℃ and the lowest temperature is 8℃.

4. Lighting

An environment with plenty of sunlight is more conducive to its growth, not only ensuring that it grows faster and stronger, but also ensuring that the colors of its leaves and flowers are brighter and more beautiful. If it is kept in a too dark environment for a long time, its growth will be seriously affected.

5. Notes

It is not cold-resistant or heat-resistant, so you should pay attention to keeping warm and cooling down in winter and summer. In winter, while paying attention to keeping it warm, you should also pay attention to the light issue. Try to place it in a sunny place and reduce the frequency of watering appropriately to once every 3-5 days.
