Not all leaves are green, it’s just that most of the ones we see in real life are green. In nature, leaves come in a variety of colorful colors. The color of leaves is determined by sunlight and its absorption. There are seven colors in sunlight, but all six except green can be absorbed by the leaves. Only green is absorbed less and a large amount is reflected. Another reason is that the leaves rely on the chlorophyll in their bodies to absorb sunlight and synthesize nutrients to provide growth. Chlorophyll is green, so the leaves are green as a whole.

1. Red: There are quite a few red leaves, such as the Japanese red maple, whose newly grown leaves are bright red in color, and will turn reddish brown as they grow. The red maple and mountain hemp are also red. For example, the Chinese red maple is green when it first grows, and then turns red in autumn.

2. Yellow: The yellow ones are mainly ginkgo trees. They naturally turn yellow in autumn due to the decrease of chlorophyll.

3. Purple-red: There is also a color that is darker than red, for example, Photinia fraseri is purple-red.
