Rose cultivation method

Rose cultivation method

1. Maintenance methods

1. Soil: Roses do not have high requirements for soil and can grow in neutral, slightly alkaline and slightly acidic soils. In order to promote its development, you can add some base fertilizer to the soil to provide it with certain nutrients.

2. Light: Roses grow best in an environment with sufficient light. Keeping it in the shade for a long time will cause it to grow poorly, resulting in the plant being weak and the leaves turning yellow and falling off. But also avoid strong sunlight to avoid sunburning the leaves and flowers.

3. Watering: The growth of roses cannot be separated from sufficient water. When the surface of the potting soil turns white, you can water it and keep the substrate moist. During its growing period, as the temperature rises, the amount of water should be increased. During the dormant period, it is not advisable to water too much, otherwise it will cause root flooding.

4. Fertilization: Roses have a high demand for fertilizers. During the growing season, water with light fertilizer once every ten days. Do not apply fertilizer during the flowering period and in winter. However, liquid fertilizer should be applied once after the flowers fade to supplement nutrients, and organic fertilizer should be applied before winter to overwinter.

2. Breeding techniques

There are many ways to propagate roses, including sowing, cuttings, grafting, high pressure and so on. Among them, cuttings are more convenient and have a high survival rate. It is usually carried out in autumn and winter. Choose strong branches and keep a few buds and upper leaves. Insert the branches into loose and moist soil, maintain 18-25℃, and they will take root after one month.

3. Pest and disease control

1. Diseases: Common diseases include black spot disease, powdery mildew, etc. The diseased branches and leaves need to be cut off and sprayed with carbendazim for disinfection. Pay attention to ventilation during daily maintenance to avoid bacterial growth.

2. Pests: Aphids and plants are the main pests. After the pests need to be removed, spray omethoate to kill the larvae.
