How to grow peacock wood

How to grow peacock wood

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: Peacock wood likes a warm environment. The normal temperature suitable for its growth is between 18 and 28 degrees. It is not very cold-resistant. It cannot be too cold in winter, otherwise the plant will be frozen to death. The temperature in summer cannot be too extreme either.

2. Watering: Peacock Wood is very strict about watering. Do not water it randomly. During the growing period, you need to increase the amount of watering to ensure that its growth is not affected, but there should be no accumulation of water. At the same time, the humidity of the air must also meet the standard, otherwise its branches and leaves will become curled, and the growth state will not be very good. In winter, you can water it less and water it again when it is dry. The air in winter should not be too dry.

3. Light: Warm sunlight is suitable for its growth, and it only needs to receive scattered sunlight. It cannot be exposed to strong light in summer, otherwise its growth will not only be poor, but its color will also be affected to a certain extent.

4. Fertilization: Peacock wood needs to keep the soil fertile during its growth process and needs to be fertilized sufficiently, mainly compound fertilizer. If the ambient temperature is ten degrees, you should stop fertilizing. If it is higher than thirty degrees, you should also stop fertilizing. The amount of fertilizer applied each time should not be too much. Be careful to apply fertilizer frequently and in small amounts, and not too much.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: Cutting and layering are the main methods. Cutting is carried out in June every year. Choose cuttings of about ten centimeters. The temperature after cutting should be maintained at about 20 degrees, and the soil should also be kept moist. Layering is best done in April, and you need to choose slender branches for layering.

2. Pruning: During the growth period, some branches of the Peacock Wood may become diseased or old branches may appear, so they need to be pruned in time. On the one hand, it can control the plant shape, and on the other hand, it can promote the growth of new branches.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Disease: Anthracnose will occur. In severe cases, the branches and leaves of the plant will die. You can spray some pesticides to control it.

2. Pests: Scale insects will attach to the back of the leaves, and you can spray them with a dichlorvos solution.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: It is non-toxic, has good medicinal value, and is a very practical wood.

2. Can it be raised at home? Yes, it is very ornamental and has good meaning.
