Soapwort cultivation methods and precautions

Soapwort cultivation methods and precautions

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: Its origin is Europe and parts of West Asia. It is warm, and the temperature is suitable between 15 and 28 degrees. In addition, it has good cold resistance. Unless you are raising it in a very northern area, there is no need to protect it from the cold.

2. Light: Soapwort is a light-loving variety. However, it can also tolerate partial shade. However, when it is growing rapidly and blooming, try not to place it in a too dark place, otherwise it will have an adverse effect on it.

3. Watering: Soapwort has a very strong adaptability to water. It grows better in dry places as well as in moist places. Therefore, you can add water to it according to the season. In dry seasons, you can add a little more. During the rainy season, less watering is needed.

4. Fertilization: Soapwort has a strong adaptability to soil and does not require much fertilizer. Some base fertilizer can be mixed into the soil, and then there is basically no need for top dressing.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: You can use the method of division, and the best season is autumn. Choose a large and healthy plant as the mother plant. Then prepare the substrate. If it is a large-scale cutting propagation, you can choose a suitable location. The main requirement is that it must be loose. After insertion, it is necessary to replenish water and provide appropriate shade.

2. Pruning: In spring, you can pinch the top of the plant to allow it to grow more branches, so that it will bloom more in the future. In addition, before winter, you can cut off the dry and yellow leaves. Furthermore, when disease occurs, try to prune it.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Disease: The most common disease is "leaf spot", which is a fungal disease. It is most likely to happen during the period from June to July. Some bactericidal agents are needed and water control is required. At the same time, pruning measures must be used to assist.

2. Pests: There are two main types, namely "grubs" and "cutworms". It is more common in roots, stems and other parts, and can be killed immediately by spraying with medicine.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: It is a clearly listed poisonous plant, and the whole plant is poisonous.

2. Can it be kept at home? It is generally not kept at home because it is very toxic.
