The difference between iris and iris

The difference between iris and iris

1. Different plant types

The iris is also called the oriental iris. Both plants belong to the Iridaceae family and the Iris genus, so the appearance is quite similar to the latter. The plant is relatively tall, about 60 cm tall.

Iris has many nicknames, including roof iris, blue butterfly, flat bamboo flower, black kite, etc. The plant itself is relatively short, about 30-40 cm.

2. Different leaves

The leaves of the cricket are broad linear in shape. Because the plant is relatively tall, the length is about 20-70 cm. They are relatively narrow, only about 0.5-1.5 cm wide, and look narrower and longer. The tip tends to be gradually pointed, and there is no obvious midrib.

The leaves of iris are broad sword-shaped and relatively short, about 15-50 cm long and about 1.5-3.5 cm wide, with several inconspicuous longitudinal veins.

3. Different flowers

The flowers of the shrub are light blue in color, about 6-7 cm in diameter, with a cockscomb-like protrusion in the center and a little purple texture.

The flowers of iris are blue-purple in color, darker in color, and about 10 cm in diameter.
