How to cultivate egg fruit

How to cultivate egg fruit

1. Soil:

The egg fruit has strong adaptability and can be cultivated in most lands, but it is best cultivated in soil with good drainage, fertile and loose soil, and a pH value between 5.5-6.5.

2. Lighting:

The passion fruit is a tropical fruit that has a strong demand for light. Long-term exposure to light is beneficial to the flowering of the passion fruit as well as the growth and nutrient accumulation of the plant.

3. Watering:

The egg fruit is not drought-tolerant and is afraid of waterlogging. Water the plants in time during drought periods and drain the water in time when water accumulates. Especially during the fruit-bearing period, the plants need a lot of water and must be kept sufficiently hydrated.

4. Temperature:

The egg fruit is not resistant to severe cold, and the most suitable temperature is 20-30℃. Too low temperature will affect the growth of plants. When the temperature reaches -2℃, the plants will be seriously damaged or even die.

5. Pest and disease control:

1. Diseases: The main diseases of egg fruit are damping-off disease and blight. They will harm the roots and leaves of the passion fruit, resulting in low fruit yield and poor quality, and in severe cases, even the death of the plant. If the disease is found, the diseased leaves and branches can be removed and burned in time, and fungicides can be sprayed for prevention and control.

2. Pests: The main pests of egg fruit are leaf miners and thrips, which will harm tender branches and affect the flowering period and fruit yield quality. You can spray 800-1000 times of 90% dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane solution 1-2 times to effectively control the damage.
