Cultivation method of toothed iris orchid

Cultivation method of toothed iris orchid

1. Soil

Toothed iris orchid is suitable for growing in sandy soil rich in humus and with good drainage. You can choose leaf mold or mountain soil with more humus. Slightly acidic loose soil or iron-containing soil is also suitable for its growth.

2. Lighting

It likes shade and avoids direct sunlight. It is recommended to be planted in a ventilated and shaded place, which is more suitable for its growth. When the sunlight is strong in summer, it needs to be shaded to prevent the leaves from being burned or scorched.

3. Temperature

It likes a warm environment, and the most suitable temperature for its growth is 15-30℃. During the high temperatures in summer, it needs to be cooled appropriately to prevent it from growing poorly. The temperature should not be lower than 5℃ in winter, otherwise it will affect its growth.

4. Watering

It likes a humid environment, and each time you water it, you must water it thoroughly, not halfway. Water when the soil is dry, and stop when the soil is wet. Watering is generally done in the early morning or evening. Avoid watering at noon or pouring water directly on the head. It is generally better to use clean, pollution-free, slightly acidic water (PH value 5.5-6.5) for watering.

5. Fertilization

It does not require much fertilizer, so you can apply some organic fertilizer appropriately, and fertilization should mainly be done by spraying fertilizer on the leaves. During the growth and development period, foliar fertilization is sufficient once every 10 days. Farmyard manure is a very good organic fertilizer, but it must be piled up and decomposed for more than a year before it can be used.
