Cultivation methods and precautions of butterfly dendrobium

Cultivation methods and precautions of butterfly dendrobium

1. Maintenance methods

1. Soil: Butterfly Dendrobium prefers to grow in a soft and breathable substrate. Many Dendrobiums grow on trees, so using bark or sawdust is a good choice, provided that it has been sterilized and fermented.

2. Watering: In spring, summer and autumn, you need to water more appropriately. Usually ensure that the maintenance environment is moist, and try not to water the leaves when watering.

3. Light: It prefers a semi-shady growing environment. In the wild, it generally grows in bushes or tropical rainforests. It can grow well with diffuse light.

4. Temperature: Butterfly Dendrobium orchid likes high temperature and high humidity, and the suitable temperature is 18~35℃. In winter, the night temperature should be kept above 15℃, and the daytime temperature should be kept between 25-30℃. During the winter, deciduous varieties can survive in an environment below 10℃.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Sowing: When planting in a high-temperature greenhouse, you need a porous and breathable flower pot. In addition, there must be a well-ventilated and breathable substrate, and some tiles or broken bricks should be placed at the bottom of the pot to allow its roots to develop and grow well.

2. Summer: During the growing season in summer when the temperature is high, it is necessary to water it sufficiently. When it slowly matures and blooms, you should gradually reduce watering. And when the sun is strong, proper shade should be provided.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Root rot: If the butterfly Dendrobium has been planted for a long time, its branches, leaves and flowers will gradually grow larger and larger, and the soil in its flowerpot will also be slowly consumed. The roots of the plant will also become prone to rot, so it is necessary to repot to avoid root rot and death.

2. No flowering: If there is not enough light, it will be difficult for flower buds to differentiate, so the plant will not bloom. It is necessary to increase the light reasonably. When fertilizing, be careful not to apply concentrated fertilizer and to ventilate the plant frequently, which is beneficial for its flowering.

IV. Other issues

1. Can it be grown indoors: It can be grown indoors at home, and it will bloom beautiful flowers from March to July, which is very ornamental.

2. Is it poisonous: It is not poisonous, and the butterfly Dendrobium orchid is very fragrant and very beautiful, especially when planted at home, it can add vitality.
