Maca cultivation methods and precautions

Maca cultivation methods and precautions

1. Soil

Slightly acidic sandy loam is suitable for growing maca. When choosing soil, you should choose loose soil with good water permeability. This type of soil is very helpful for the growth of maca.

2. Water

After planting, you should choose to water in the morning on a sunny day. The amount of water should be appropriate, not too much. This can avoid high temperature watering and avoid water accumulation. You should also always pay attention to weather conditions and stop watering before it rains to prevent water accumulation from affecting the normal growth of the plants.

3. Nutrients

When applying top dressing, you can determine the amount and frequency of fertilizer application based on the condition of the seedlings. It is best to use well-rotted farmyard manure. Usually, it is enough to apply fertilizer about three times, and the amount of fertilizer applied each time does not need to be much. It is best to apply small amounts frequently. Proper soil loosening and weeding during maintenance can also promote the absorption of maca nutrients.

4. Temperature

Maca has special temperature requirements. It likes to grow in an environment with a large temperature difference between day and night. The greater the temperature difference, the more beneficial it is to its growth. The temperature difference of 20-30℃ or above can meet the growth needs of Maca. The temperature difference between day and night should be well controlled during maintenance.
