1. Pruning techniques

When to prune: Choose a time when the trunk is firm and the weather is clear, keep 3-5 cm of pruning branches upward from the last sprout, and apply a healing agent to prevent infection.

Promote branching: Through pruning, the growth of side branches is stimulated, making the plant fuller and creating conditions for more flowers.

2. Maintenance "three elements"

Light: Desert rose needs sufficient sunlight for photosynthesis, which promotes the development of root system and the growth of new shoots.

Fertilization: Use high-nitrogen fertilizer to promote the growth of lateral buds. When the crown is large enough, switch to phosphorus and potassium fertilizers to promote flower bud differentiation.

Watering: Although Desert Rose is drought-tolerant, it needs adequate water after pruning to support the rapid growth of new shoots and roots.

3. Specific operations

Pruning: During the growing season, when the temperature is not lower than 20 degrees, keep 3-5 cm after each pruning to promote the growth of side branches.

Light: Ensure full-sun maintenance to prevent new shoots from becoming thin or turning black.

Fertilization: Use fertilizers with high nitrogen content, such as Huaduoduo No. 10, in the early stage to promote growth; use potassium dihydrogen phosphate in the later stage to promote flowering.

Watering: Under the premise of good ventilation, water the potting soil thoroughly when it is half dry to keep the soil breathable and avoid root rot.
