Watering time for Kalanchoe, what to do if leaves turn yellow due to excessive watering

Watering time for Kalanchoe, what to do if leaves turn yellow due to excessive watering

1. Watering time

It is important to choose the right time to water the Kalanchoe. Under normal circumstances, watering in spring and autumn is very casual. You can water it at any time and it will not have a big impact on the growth of the plant.

You need to be careful when watering in summer and winter. First of all, the temperature in summer is very high, and the water temperature will be higher than usual, so watering should be in the morning or after 5 pm. If you water during the hot noon, the temperature of the water in the soil will rise rapidly, which is not conducive to the growth of the plant roots. Another thing is that in winter, watering in winter is just the opposite of watering in summer. It cannot be done in the morning and evening, but must be done when it is warm at noon. Otherwise, the water temperature in the soil will drop rapidly, and its roots will easily be frozen.

2. What to do if leaves turn yellow due to excessive watering?

If you water the Kalanchoe too much, its leaves will turn yellow and become soft, and in severe cases, they may even fall off. The plant should be moved to a place with good air circulation. The ventilated environment can promote the evaporation of moisture and it will generally recover soon. If the plant's condition does not improve but becomes worse, it means that the roots have rotted. Dig the Kalanchoe out of the potting soil, cut off the rotten roots with a knife, then disinfect and dry it. There were bacteria in the soil in the pot before, so it also needs to be disinfected or replaced, and then you can put it in the pot. Watering should be moderate at ordinary times, and avoid allowing water to accumulate in the pot.
