Lipstick Chlorophytum cultivation methods and precautions

Lipstick Chlorophytum cultivation methods and precautions

1. Suitable soil

When growing lipstick spider plants, soil is the most basic factor. You need to provide loose, fertile, and soft soil. It also needs to have good drainage to prevent a large amount of water accumulation. You can mix it with vermiculite, sand and peat soil, which should be slightly acidic.

2. Suitable temperature

The temperature suitable for the growth of lipstick spider plant is around 15-25 degrees. It prefers warmth and does not like continuous high temperature weather. It cannot withstand the cold in winter and needs to be moved indoors as soon as possible.

3. Water and fertilizer management

The growth of lipstick spider plant cannot be separated from watering and fertilizing. During the period of vigorous growth, the soil in the flowerpot should be kept moist and watered two or three times a week. In autumn and winter, watering should be reduced and the soil in the pot should be kept dry in winter. Fertilize regularly during the growing season to ensure the balance of various elements in the fertilizer. Apply fertilizer in time before and after the flowering period, but pay attention to the concentration and follow the principle of applying small amounts of fertilizer frequently.

4. Reasonable exposure to light

Although the lipstick spider plant prefers a semi-shady growing environment, it needs sufficient sunlight during its growth, especially in spring, autumn and winter. In summer, the sunlight is strong and can be properly shaded.

5. Notes

During the growth and maintenance process, pay attention to proper pruning, do a good job of pinching and pruning, and trim the remaining flowers in time after flowering. Maintain good ventilation at ordinary times to prevent infection by pests and diseases.
