Paulownia Tree Lifespan, Blooming Time

Paulownia Tree Lifespan, Blooming Time

1. Lifespan of Paulownia Tree

Paulownia trees have a certain lifespan and cannot live forever. Generally, common varieties can live between 30 and 40 years. As time goes by, they are prone to hollow trees in the later stages, and the plants will slowly wither and die. However, some species live longer, such as the giant redwood in the United States, which can live between 3,000 and 4,000 years even in harsh environments. There are also very rare species that live even longer, about 7,000-8,000 years.

2. Flowering time of Paulownia tree

The Paulownia tree usually blooms between March and April each year and can last for about a month. The flowers are in small cymes of three or five. The corolla is relatively large, light purple or white, and bell-shaped or funnel-shaped. It has certain ornamental value during the blooming period.

3. Growth habits of Paulownia trees

It is a positive tree species and requires a lot of light, so it needs to be exposed to more sun. It grows better in a soil environment with good permeability, deep soil layer and good drainage. However, it has strong adaptability and can grow normally even in poor, acidic or alkaline soil environments. Note that it is not water-tolerant and must be drained in time during the rainy season. Long-term accumulation of water will hinder growth and the plant may die easily.
