Cutting temperature

The most suitable temperature for rooting of bottle orchid cuttings is between 20-30℃. If the temperature is lower than 20℃, the cuttings will take root slowly; if it is higher than 30℃, it will be easily infected by pathogens and cause rot. The higher the temperature, the faster the infection.

When low temperatures come, you need to wrap the entire flower pot for cuttings with plastic film to ensure the temperature and humidity inside the pot; when the temperature is too high, you need to provide appropriate shade for the cuttings, blocking about two-thirds of the total light.

When spraying the cuttings, be careful not to spray too many times a day. The appropriate number of times is 3-5 times. As the temperature gradually rises, the number of sprays should also be appropriately increased. In the rainy season or rainy weather, the temperature difference is large and the temperature is low, so it is better to spray less frequently, or even not spray at all.

Cutting Light

The cuttings of Bottle Orchid cannot be separated from the role of light. Its cuttings need to be exposed to light to produce nutrients for the plant itself or to provide it with rooting and germination.

If the light is too strong, the temperature of the cuttings will rise, transpiration will be enhanced, and water will be gradually consumed, causing the cuttings to lack water, which is not conducive to reproduction and survival.

Therefore, after cuttings, two-thirds of the sunlight needs to be blocked, and the shading net can be removed after the roots grow.

Humidity and moisture

When propagating bottle orchids, the air humidity must be maintained at 75%-85%. Before the cuttings take root, ensure that they have sufficient photosynthesis to help them take root. If roots do not take shape, the cuttings will not be able to absorb water to maintain the growth balance in the body, so it is necessary to reduce water evaporation through spraying.
