Winter care for spring grass

Spring Grass Winter Temperature

Spring grass is a plant that likes coolness and shade, so it is relatively afraid of heat. The most suitable temperature in winter should be kept at 5℃-20℃. In this environment, in order for the plant to continue to grow, daily watering and management should be controlled to make the plant dormant. When the temperature reaches no less than 0℃, it can safely overwinter indoors.

Spring grass winter light

Spring grass likes light and coolness, and should be given sufficient light in winter. Otherwise, insufficient light will make the leaves extremely thin and weak, and the leaf curling degree will be poor, which will not be able to well reflect the charm and characteristics of spring grass. In winter, spring grass should be placed on a sunny balcony. The leaves of spring grass plants are short and thick, spiraled and twisted, and are very ornamental.

Spring grass winter watering

Spring grass likes a cool and humid growing environment. In winter, you should maintain a small amount of watering, but you must water it. If there is water accumulation, it will cause serious root rot of the spring grass. If there is a long-term drought and water shortage, the growth of the plant will stop, the leaves will turn yellow or even wither. Therefore, the plants should be sprayed with water frequently to increase the air humidity around the plants and prevent them from drying out in hot climates.

Spring grass winter fertilization

During the growing period of each year, you can apply decomposed nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium dilute liquid fertilizer to spring grass once a month to ensure the normal growth of the plant and the absorption of nutrients.

Spring grass winter soil

Spring grass should be planted in fertile, loose loam containing humus. In winter, when the temperature is low, it should be potted indoors to keep the air humidity and indoor temperature appropriate. The potting soil should be a mixture of leaf mold, sand or vermiculite.
