How to grow Crassula in winter

How to grow Crassula in winter

Move indoors promptly

The Crane's Palm is not cold-resistant, so in late autumn, when winter is approaching, the plant needs to be moved indoors in time. The indoor temperature should be controlled at 7~10 ℃, and it should be placed in a place with good sunlight as much as possible. If the weather is warm, you can move the Kusanagi to the balcony to let it bask in the sun, but move it indoors at night to avoid frost in the morning.

Control the dryness and humidity of the potting soil

In winter, the soil in the pot should be slightly dry and does not need to be watered frequently. Observe the leaves of the Kusanagi plant and spray the plant with fine mist to replenish water when appropriate. Flowers in a home environment with sufficient humidity generally do not need to be watered directly.

Insulation

The North and South can take different approaches. The temperature in the northern region is lower, so in addition to moving it indoors, try not to place it near the window. In the southern regions, as long as the temperature is suitable, they can spend the winter outdoors, but you need to cover the plant with a layer of plastic film to keep it warm. But you need to pay attention to the humidity inside the cover. When the water vapor is too high, you need to remove the cover in time to ventilate to prevent leaf rot.

Check in time

In winter, you should always observe the growth of the bird's nest to avoid frostbite. If early anti-freeze measures are incorrect and the Kusanagara has suffered frost damage, do not discard the plant easily. As long as the frozen leaves and young branches are removed and the plump main stem is preserved, and appropriate fertilizer is applied in the spring, new branches and leaves will still sprout from the main stem. Generally, after 1 to 2 years of cultivation, it can develop into a perfect jade tree.
