How to water golden sedge

How to water golden sedge

Watering method during the growing season

Golden Spartina grows rapidly in cool seasons, and it is also a water-loving variety. Proper water supplementation can promote its growth. When watering, make sure the plant is completely dry. This variety will easily grow tall if there is insufficient light. If you want it to be more beautiful, you can use less water and more light.

Watering methods in winter and spring

In fact, golden spathiphyllum does not have an obvious dormant period, but the temperature is too low in winter and early spring, so golden spathiphyllum grows slowly. The watering method at this time is different from that in other seasons. When the temperature is below 3℃, stop watering and keep the soil in the pot dry. If the temperature is -4℃, the leaves are prone to frostbite. As long as you reduce watering, the leaves will slowly recover even if they are frostbitten.

Watering amount

Water more during the growing season and less in winter and spring, but how do you measure more and less? If you water it too little, it will seem wilted, and if you water it too much, the roots will rot. So how much water should be poured each time?

Depending on the soil permeability and the size of the flowerpot, you can use a paper cup to measure the amount of watering each time. For small pots and smaller plants, you can use half a cup of water. When the pot is large or even overflowing, you can pour one or one and a half cups of water into it.

Watering time

Everyone knows the amount and method of watering, but when should we water?

Golden spathiphyllum likes sunlight and water, but sunlight also likes water. When the sunlight is strong, it will take away a lot of water. So avoid watering in the sun. In summer or when the sun is strong, try to choose the morning before sunrise and the evening when the sun sets to avoid water droplets on the leaves when the sun is out.

When the weather is cold in winter and the sunlight is not very strong, try to choose the warmer noon time. Water the plants as close to the ground as possible and spray water appropriately to ensure that there are a small amount of water droplets on the leaves.
