Water and fertilizer management of Vinca

Water and fertilizer management of Vinca

Watering Tips

Watering of Vinca is mainly affected by two aspects: temperature and humidity.

Vinca likes a humid environment, so the air humidity cannot be too low. When the humidity of the air is too low, the leaves will turn yellow and lose their luster due to lack of water. At this time, you can spray water on the leaves to increase the air humidity and play a certain role in replenishing water.

The watering of Vinca should also change according to the changes in temperature. Generally, the higher the temperature, the more frequent the watering.

When the temperature is more suitable in spring and autumn, watering once every 7 to 10 days is sufficient. The temperature is low in winter, and excessive watering can easily cause water accumulation in the pot, causing the plants to freeze. At this time, watering should be strictly controlled and the soil in the pot should be kept dry. Summer is a hot season with high evaporation, so watering should be more frequent and the amount of watering should be increased appropriately to cool the plants. On rainy days, pay attention to timely drainage to ensure the normal growth of the root system to avoid waterlogging and the death of the vinca.

Fertilization tips

Vinca does not require much fertilizer. During its growth process, Vinca vine generally only needs trace elements necessary for plant growth, and these trace elements can generally be met in the soil.

However, Vinca still needs to replenish the elements that it consumes in large quantities during its growth, such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. These can be supplemented through fertilization.

During the growing period of Vinca, fertilizer can be applied once every half a month. The amount of fertilizer does not need to be too much. The amount of fertilizer can be determined according to the growth conditions of Vinca, and can be combined with watering.

Precautions

Because Vinca is afraid of moisture and waterlogging, do not water it too much each time. Too wet soil in the pot will affect its growth and development. Each time you water, you need to water thoroughly.

If the soil where Vinca grows is too poor, top dressing can be applied 2 to 3 times a year.
