How to propagate the weeping angel

How to propagate the weeping angel

Propagation by division

In the summer and autumn of each year, the tubers of the weeping angel will sprout small seedlings with leaves, which can be divided by repotting and changing the soil.

Seed propagation

When the fruits ripen in autumn, collect the orange-red seeds and sow them immediately after collection, or dry them and store them for sowing in the spring of the following year.

Cutting propagation

1. Cutting time: The weeping angel and stem cuttings are suitable for spring, summer and autumn.

2. Cut the stem about 5 cm away from the soil surface at the base of the plant.

3. The cut old stems can be cut into branches about 15 cm in length, placed in a shade and dried for half a day before being inserted into sandy loam for cultivation.

4. During the cultivation period of old plants, because of the shaded and humid environment or the spraying of water on the leaves every morning and evening in summer and autumn, a few new plants will occasionally sprout on the old stems, and many aerial roots will be attached. You can break them off at the junction of the daughter plant and the mother plant and plant them in pots.

Precautions

1. For this growing section, cut off all the formed leaves, and then plant it directly in a pot. Cultivation and cuttings can be carried out simultaneously. After two months of cultivation, it can become a mature plant with large leaves, dense branches, and a short, strong and vigorous appearance. It will look quite elegant when placed indoors.

2. During the cutting period, it is necessary to maintain the moisture of the substrate (6 parts sand: 4 parts garden soil) and increase the air humidity. Many strong roots will grow in about 7-10 days.
