How to water Areca palm

How to water Areca palm

Daily watering and maintenance of Areca palm

Areca palm likes a warm and humid environment, so we'd better keep the soil in the pot moist. Our daily watering should follow the principle of "dry through and wet through". It should not be half dry and half wet. When watering, it must be watered thoroughly so that the roots of the Areca palm can be nourished by water. Although the Areca palm likes a humid environment, we cannot over-water it, causing water accumulation in the pot, which will lead to root rot of the Areca palm.

Summer watering

Summer is generally hot and dry, so you can water more often. Not only is the weather hot in summer and the moisture of the Areca palm evaporates quickly, but summer is also the season when the Areca palm grows vigorously, and the water demand increases accordingly. So in summer we can water the Areca palm twice a day. In addition, when the weather is too hot, you should spray water around the leaves of the Areca palm plant to maintain the humidity in the air. The amount and frequency of watering should be determined according to the current climate conditions and the humidity of the soil in the pot. There is no need to copy the formula.

Winter Watering

The weather is relatively cold in winter, and the evaporation rate of water is correspondingly lower. The Areca palm also grows relatively slowly in winter, so there is no need to water it too much in winter. Especially during the cold and rainy seasons, you must not water too much, and you even have to do a good job of drainage. In winter, you can wipe the leaves of the Areca palm, which can not only make it bright and clean as new, but also increase the humidity and provide it with appropriate moisture.
