How to breed golden marbles

How to breed golden marbles

Seed propagation

Generally in March and April, pick the ripe golden marble fruits, take out the seeds inside, wash them with clean water and then dry them. Soak the seeds in 30℃-50℃ hot water. Take them out after two days, put them in a water-tight container and cover them with wet gauze. After that, water it about 3 times a day. The suitable water temperature is around 25℃. After the seeds break and germinate, sow them in the seedbed or in a container. It is best to choose loose, well-ventilated peat soil or nutrient soil, and make sure to keep the soil moist. After the seedlings emerge, you can apply some liquid fertilizer with low concentration to promote the healthy growth of the seedlings. It should be noted that the golden ball is a cross-pollinated plant, so the plants propagated by sowing will show greater separation variation. Therefore, the seedlings need to be selected before transplanting to achieve better results.

Cutting propagation

Both new and old branches of the current year can be selected for cutting propagation. The key to cutting propagation lies in the time of cutting, and mid-April is the most suitable time every year. It is also important to ensure the humidity of the cutting bed environment and the freshness of the cuttings. If possible, place the cutting bed in full sunlight, spray the cutting bed during the day and stop at night. If conditions do not permit, you can place the cutting bed in a bright, spacious, well-ventilated, semi-shaded place. Remember to spray it 3-4 times a day to ensure the survival of the cuttings. Small bonsai made from cuttings will usually bear fruit after three years.
