If you can’t do these things when growing hydroponic plants in summer, your flowers will die!

If you can’t do these things when growing hydroponic plants in summer, your flowers will die!

1. Clean the hydroponic bottle and root system

In summer, the temperature is high and moss is easily bred in the hydroponic bottles after exposure to sunlight. If it is not cleaned in time, it will cause the roots of the hydroponic plants to rot and affect the appearance.

When cleaning the hydroponic bottle, the roots should also be properly cleaned. Use water to rinse off the mucus on the roots and cut off the rotten parts. For some aging roots that have lost their ability to absorb water, cut them all off.

2. Precautions when changing water

1. It is best to use river water or tap water, the water quality is suitable for the growth of hydroponic flowers. If you use tap water, because it contains chlorine, which can harm the roots of flowers, you should air it in the sun for a day before using it!

2. If the water is not changed for a long time in summer, the hydroponic solution will easily become smelly. It is best to change the water every four or five days.

3. Don't put all the roots in the hydroponic culture medium. Just immerse one-third of the roots in water. This way, the roots can absorb oxygen from both the air and the water, and grow better.

3. Choice of placement

In summer, hydroponic plants should mainly use scattered light and avoid direct sunlight. It is best not to place it on a south-facing balcony. It can be placed in the bedroom, living room, study, etc. If placed in a place with strong light, it is best to take some shade measures.

4. Temperature control

When the temperature exceeds thirty degrees, many hydroponic plants will enter a dormant state and stop growing. So when the temperature is too high, do not fertilize or add nutrient solution.

On the one hand, you can lower the temperature by turning on the air conditioner. On the other hand, you can spray more water on the leaves of the plants to lower the temperature, increase the air humidity, and promote the normal growth of hydroponic flowers.

5. How to avoid root rot in hydroponics

The temperature is high in summer, and bacteria are easy to breed, causing root rot of hydroponic plants. In order to avoid bacterial growth and reduce root rot, you can put a little carbendazim in the hydroponic solution. When using, dilute carbendazim one thousand times and add it.

6. Provide more ventilation

Hot and humid weather is not conducive to the growth of hydroponic plants. When the indoor air is not circulated, it will affect the water content of the hydroponic solution. If the ventilation is good, the oxygen content is high, and if the ventilation is poor, the oxygen content is low. Therefore, ventilation should be strengthened in summer to keep the indoor air fresh and ensure good growth of the plants.
