How to water Amaryllis? Watering this way will make the leaves lush and the flowers beautiful!

Classification and properties of Amaryllis

There are two main colors of Amaryllis, pink and red. There is not much difference between the two types except for the color. The flowering period and management are very similar. For example, it likes an environment that is both humid and relatively warm, and cannot tolerate strong light and scorching heat. The most suitable growth temperature is between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius. It will hibernate in winter, and the temperature must not be lower than 5 degrees Celsius. Not tolerant to waterlogging, prefers sandy soil.

How to water Amaryllis

Although Amaryllis likes moisture, it should not be watered too much. If planted on the balcony, it should be watered less. If planted on the roof (that is, an outdoor environment with strong sunlight), it should be watered more, and it must be watered every day. This will ensure the plants remain moist.

Amaryllis does not need to be watered in the early stage of planting. Generally, when the leaves of the plant reach ten centimeters in length, it can be watered normally. The water should be thoroughly poured but not waterlogged. Just keep the soil in the flowerpot moist. The amount of water can be increased during the growth period, but simple watering cannot meet the growth needs of Amaryllis. At this time, it is generally watered with some fertilizer water, that is, some water mixed with organic fertilizer is applied in a cycle of ten days. When it is close to the flowering period, Amaryllis needs a lot of watering, both enough and thorough. The frequency of watering can be appropriately increased, but water should still not accumulate in the flowerpot.

When winter comes, the cold temperature will cause the amaryllis plant to stop growing and enter a dormant period. At this time, there is no need to water it, even if it is dry.
