How to propagate cilantro

How to propagate cilantro

Methods of reproduction

The most common methods of propagating cilantro are sowing and cuttings. The best time for propagation is from March to May in spring. The cultivation method is very simple, and the tools and process are easy to operate. Today I will mainly talk to you about a sowing method that is more frequently used.

The process of sowing

There are also two ways to operate the sowing method. Since coriander seeds are relatively easy to germinate, one way is to place them in tap water and they will sprout as long as the temperature is suitable. There is also a general operating procedure, which is no different from the propagation of other plants. Let’s learn it next.

soak

First, pour the collected coriander seeds into a culture dish. You don’t need too much water, just enough to cover the seeds. When the temperature is suitable, place it directly in an environment with good air circulation and a relatively cool shade and wait. If the ambient temperature is too low, you can cover the container with a layer of plastic film to keep it warm. However, you must pay attention to the frequency of changing water, and wait until the young shoots sprout to one centimeter before planting.

Cultivation

If it is hydroponics, pour the water and seeds in the culture dish directly into the flowerpot, making sure the gaps between the seeds are even. Then place the flowerpot in a place that is away from light but not too cold for two or three days. Once the leaves sprout, you can place it in a hydroponic container. Soil cultivation can be made by mixing humus-rich garden soil with river mud, and the seeds can be planted after they grow tall.
