How often to water

For plants like ivy, there is no fixed time for watering. Usually we can water according to the changes of seasons, and always ensure that the soil in the pot is dry and moist. When the soil in the pot becomes dry, you can water it at this time to ensure that the soil is evenly and thoroughly moistened, but be sure to avoid water accumulation. When the weather is dry, you can spray water mist on the leaves to maintain the humidity of the surrounding air, because ivy is a shade-loving plant and does not require too much light.

The flowerpot factor

There are two types of flower pots used for ivy planting: sand pots and plastic pots. When using plastic pots for planting, the moisture in the soil evaporates more slowly, so we can extend the watering interval, generally once a week. Sand pots are better in water permeability and air permeability, and water loss is faster than in plastic pots, so depending on the soil moisture conditions, you can usually water it once every three days.

Growth

The growth of ivy can reflect many problems. If it is watered sufficiently and in just the right amount, the ivy will grow quite vigorously. Generally, observe its growth conditions a few days after watering. If the leaves are normal and there are no other phenomena, you don't need to rush to water it. If you find that the leaves of the plant are dry and yellow, it may be because of too much watering. The remedy is to replace the potting soil. Finally, depending on the condition of the soil, insert wooden chopsticks into the soil to detect the dryness and wetness of the soil inside, and take appropriate watering measures based on the results.
