How to care for Epiphyllum in autumn

How to care for Epiphyllum in autumn

temperature

Epiphyllum prefers to survive in a humid and warm environment. Generally, after entering autumn, the temperature should be between 12 and 18 degrees. After late autumn, around mid-October, it needs to be placed indoors for maintenance to prevent the temperature from being too low and affecting its growth.

illumination

Epiphyllum likes to grow in semi-shady environment. In autumn, it is best to place it in a semi-shaded place outdoors for maintenance. It should not be exposed to direct sunlight or exposure to the sun, otherwise the stems and leaves of the plant may turn yellow and wither, affecting its appearance.

soil

For the soil, you should choose sandy soil that is rich in humus, has good drainage, and is loose in texture. It is best if it is slightly acidic to prevent root rot of the plants. You can use two parts of leaf mold, two parts of garden soil, and one part of sandy soil. After mixing, you should expose it to the sun for sterilization and disinfection. When planting, put some bricks or broken tiles under the flowerpot to make the soil drain better.

Moisture

When it comes to watering, it is best to let the soil be slightly drier, especially in late autumn. Generally, you can wait until the soil is dry before watering, just make sure the soil is not too dry.

Fertilization

In autumn, you can use some decomposed liquid fertilizer to help the plants bloom and grow. In autumn, you can use nitrogen fertilizer once a month at an appropriate concentration.
