How to plant flying saucer melon

Ecological habits

The flying saucer melon has particularly high requirements for the environmental temperature. Generally, the temperature is controlled within 13℃-28℃, which is most suitable for its growth. If it drops below ten degrees, it will stop growing. Also pay attention to the humidity, water, and soil in which it grows.

Planting method

Seedling cultivation

Soak the selected high-quality seeds in water at 30 degrees Celsius for about ten hours. The seeds are then placed in a greenhouse at twenty-eight degrees Celsius to germinate. With careful care, it can be transplanted outdoors when it grows to a certain height.

sowing

To plant flying saucer melons, you need to first fertilize and plow the land, then divide it little by little, with the distance between each plant being about 70 centimeters. Then plant the seedlings in the soil, with the best distance between every two seedlings being 100 centimeters.

manage

After transplanting the flying saucer melon seedlings, apply additional fertilizer and water to help the seedlings get better nutrients. At the same time, carry out daily management, clean up weeds and dry diseased leaves on time, ensure sufficient sunlight, and let nutrients reach the fruits directly. Artificial pollination is required during the flowering period. If you want more fruit, you must not be lazy during this period.

Pests and diseases

Flying saucer melon is very susceptible to aphids. The prevention method is to spray with DDT emulsion to kill the insects; secondly, whiteflies can be controlled with the spray of cypermethrin; if powdery mildew occurs, it is recommended to use oxycarboxin to spray and control it.
