How does Yachiyo spend the winter?

How does Yachiyo spend the winter?

1. Water and fertilizer:

When the pot and soil are completely dry, you can water them, and make sure the water penetrates the bottom. In summer, you need to be more restrained when watering. Just ventilate the plant more often and don't grow it in a confined space. You can apply liquid fertilizer to Hachimandai, but don't make it too concentrated, otherwise the plant will grow too fast upward, the leaves will become sparse, the spacing will increase, and it will slowly move away from your psychological expectations.

2. Temperature:

The growing season of Yachiyo is mainly a cool season. The suitable temperature for growth is 15-25 degrees, and it should not be lower than 3 degrees in winter. It can still grow at a temperature of around 5°C and can be placed outdoors during its growing period to receive warm sunlight. When the temperature drops below 0℃ in winter, it is necessary to protect it from freezing. Keep the cultivation soil in a relatively moist state, and generally the eight thousand generations will not be affected by freezing. In cool seasons, the tips of the leaves of Hachiyo will turn yellow or orange, and the greater the temperature difference between day and night, the more obvious it is. In cold seasons, due to insufficient sunlight, the plant will grow poorly and the stems and leaves will gradually shrink or fall off. If properly cared for, the Hachimansia will produce small, star-shaped yellow flowers in the spring.

3. Lighting:

Hachiyo likes warmth and light. In autumn and winter, it is best to place it outdoors and keep it in sufficient light (at least 5 hours of sunlight a day). When exposed to sufficient sunlight, the leaves will turn light yellow and the tips of the leaves will turn light pink or a striking agate red, which is very beautiful. It is worth noting that you should avoid direct sunlight, as this will kill you.

Hachiyo has great ornamental value and has been particularly popular in the past two years. It is small, delicate and easy to raise. For friends who like to grow some small plants but cannot take care of them frequently, then this is such a convenient little thing.
