1. Sowing method

Generally speaking, when breeding star hoppers, the method we most often use is sowing. In spring, we find a pot and choose suitable soil. Because the star-shaped lily prefers soil with better drainage and containing lime, we should find soil that meets these conditions. Then put the soil into the pot, and then sprinkle the selected seeds evenly in the pot. Generally, sowing is done indoors, and then sprinkle a layer of fine sand on it, and water it appropriately. Don't forget to water it when it hasn't germinated. Give it plenty of sunlight, and then it will generally germinate in about 3 to 5 days. After germination, it is its growing season, and at this time you need to water it more frequently, but not too much, just the right amount. Generally speaking, the seedlings grown by sowing will be better, but they cannot accelerate the rapid growth of the sphere. So this is just one of the ways.

2. Grafting method

When breeding star hoppers, we can also use grafting to breed them. Generally, grafting is carried out in May and June because the temperature at this time is just right, neither too cold nor too hot. We usually choose to use Ophiopogon japonicus as rootstock or find some flower baskets. When grafting, we usually use the seedlings that were sown, and then they can bloom normally in the second year. Generally, in order to speed up the growth of the sphere, we often use the method of grafting. Moreover, the grafted star sphere does not need to wait for many years before blooming like sowing. This method can greatly reduce the flowering time of the star sphere. Therefore, propagation by grafting is a particularly good method. When cultivating artificially, this method is generally used frequently, which greatly reduces the amount of work.
