How to make yellow orchid bloom on New Year's Day

How to make yellow orchid bloom on New Year's Day

1. Repotting before flowering

If you want it to bloom on New Year's Day, we can generally move the yellow orchid to a greenhouse with a lower temperature 40 to 50 days in advance. This will break its dormancy and prevent it from staying in a dormant state for a long time. Then wait for about 25 to 30 days before placing it in a greenhouse with a relatively high temperature, and keep the humidity in the room above 60%, so that it can bloom on time on New Year's Day.

2. Suitable temperature

Temperature is an important factor in whether it can be opened. If you want it to bloom smoothly, the temperature must be controlled well. In places with lower temperatures in winter, don’t forget to move it indoors for maintenance, and the minimum temperature should be controlled above 5 degrees. Temperature is also very important for its maintenance. It should not be too high or too low.

3. Lighting

As everyone knows, it prefers sunlight, so light is very important to it. In winter, we must give it a lot of light so that it can bloom more smoothly. If the light in the room is too weak, its growth will be restricted. In severe cases, it will become dry and yellow, seriously affecting its flowering. If it is in the room, it is usually placed on a sunny windowsill, so that its need for light can be more fully met.

4. Water and fertilizer

Generally speaking, a lot of water, fertilizer and fertilizer are needed when it is growing vigorously. However, after winter, the amount of water, fertilizer and fertilizer should be reduced slowly. Too much will easily affect its root system, and in severe cases, its roots will rot. Therefore, especially before it blooms on New Year's Day, you must not fertilize it, otherwise its buds will easily fall off, and then there will be very few flowers.
