Celery is a vegetable that prefers cool climates. It has very high nutritional value and is rich in protein and minerals. It is grown in all parts of China. Below, the editor will introduce the method and time of celery planting , let’s take a look. 1. Celery Planting Time 1. Autumn open-field planting: Generally, sowing and seedling raising are carried out from early June to early July, the seedling age is 70 to 80 days, and the commercial maturity period is from late November to early December. 2. Greenhouse planting in winter and spring: sowing and seedling raising from September to November. Sowing after October requires seedling raising in protected areas. The seedling age is 80 to 90 days and is harvested and put on the market from February to April of the following year. 3. Open-field planting in spring: sowing and raising seedlings from late October to January of the following year, seedling age is 70 to 90 days, outdoor planting from February to March, harvesting and marketing in May to June. 4. Summer alpine planting: Seedlings are raised at the foot of the mountain from April to May. When the seedlings have 4 to 5 true leaves, they can be planted in batches on the mountain at an altitude of about 800 to 1000 meters from mid-June to early July. The products are generally available in the off-season from August to September. 2. Celery Planting Method 1. Variety selection Choose celery varieties with excellent quality, high yield and strong disease resistance, such as selected celery, early spring celery, late spring celery, etc. These varieties can adapt to different planting environments and market demands. 2. Seed soaking and germination Soak the seeds in 55℃ warm water and stir until it reaches room temperature, then soak for 24 hours. After taking out and drying, wrap them with wet cloth and place them at 15℃ ~ 20℃ to germinate. When most of the seeds turn white, they can be sown. 3. Preparation of nutrient soil Choose garden soil free of pests and diseases, add well-rotted organic fertilizer and appropriate amount of fertilizer, mix thoroughly and put it into the seedling tray or seedling bed. 4. Planting seeds Spread the germinated seeds evenly on the seedling bed, cover with fine soil, and spray water appropriately. Keep the temperature of the seedling bed between 15℃ and 20℃, and thin out the seedlings when they grow 2 to 3 true leaves. 5. Land preparation and fertilization Choose a plot of land with flat terrain, loose soil and high organic matter content, deep plow the land and apply well-rotted organic fertilizer and appropriate amount of compound fertilizer . 6. Planting When the seedlings grow 5 to 6 true leaves, they should be transplanted. Select healthy seedlings and transplant them according to appropriate row and plant spacing. Be careful to keep the soil moist and avoid direct sunlight. The above is an introduction to the planting method and time of celery. After planting, water it in time to keep the soil moist. During the growth period, apply appropriate amounts of nitrogen fertilizer and potassium fertilizer to promote plant growth. At the same time, drainage and irrigation should be carried out in time according to weather conditions.
