How to fertilize goldenrod

How to fertilize goldenrod

1. Demand for fertilizer

In general, the demand is quite high. However, this also changes according to the season. That is, the period of high demand is mainly the growth stage when it is growing vigorously.

2. Principles to be followed in fertilization

The first thing is the concentration of the fertilizer. If it is too concentrated, it will not only fail to promote its growth and flowering, but will cause harm. Therefore, the frequency can be more appropriate, but the concentration must not be too high. In addition, the amount and frequency of fertilization must be adjusted according to changes in time and temperature. It cannot be a one-size-fits-all approach.

3. Specific fertilization method

(1) First, in the season when the growth rate is relatively fast, organic fertilizer needs to be applied every half a month or so, but of course the concentration should be thinner.

(2) After the flower buds appear, it is necessary to add some 0.2% (KH2PO4) solution to the applied fertilizer water, so as to meet the plant's demand for flower fertilizer during the flowering period.

(3) Also, in late autumn and even in winter, because the temperature is relatively low at this time, fertilizer is basically not needed, so we should gradually reduce the amount of fertilizer at this time, and we can stop applying fertilizer in winter.

(4) Another thing to note is that if the temperature is higher than 35 degrees or lower than 15 degrees, you should stop fertilizing.

4. Notes

(1) When applying fertilizer, be careful not to get fertilizer or water on the leaves of the plant, otherwise it will cause some diseases.

(2) If the leaves begin to turn yellow, you can add some (FeSO4) to the fertilizer water to help alleviate the problem.
