How to plant Taxus chinensis

How to plant Taxus chinensis

1. Seed processing

First, we need to collect the seeds around November, then wash the seed coat, and then bury it. In the summer, we need to turn over the seeds twice a month.

2. Requirements for the seedbed

The seedbed chosen for it needs to be slightly acidic, and also have to meet the conditions of being sheltered from the wind and having good drainage. Generally, the seedbed needs to be one meter wide, and the ditch needs to be four decimeters wide. In addition, steel plates need to be inserted into it. Before planting, we need to turn over the soil in the bed and then add some disinfectant to kill pests and diseases.

3. Sowing method

Take out the prepared seeds and gently sprinkle them into the trench. Be careful not to sow the seeds too close together, otherwise the seedlings will have difficulty developing normally due to competition for growing space. Then cover it with a layer of soil and then water it sufficiently. Finally, you need to cover it with a layer of plastic film to keep it warm and moist.

4. Post-processing

Generally, it takes about 40 days for seedlings to emerge. At this time, we need to remove the plastic film covering the seedbed, and then put a sunshade on it to ensure that the sunlight cannot directly shine on it. In addition, we need to add some water to the seedbed to ensure it is moist. If it rains, we need to cover it with a film to prevent excessive moisture.

During its seedling period, we need to fertilize and water it, generally once every ten days. It can be transplanted around April, and the soil for transplanting should be slightly acidic. In addition, we must do a good job of daily management so that it can grow healthily.
