What fertilizer is best for Anthurium

What fertilizer is best for Anthurium

1. Commonly used fertilizer types

In fact, as long as it is the right fertilizer, it is good. There is no definite standard of good or bad, nor is there any regulation on which type of fertilizer must be applied. There are many types of fertilizers suitable for this plant. For example, liquid fertilizers and slow-release fertilizers on the market. Of course, there are also special fertilizers designed specifically for the characteristics of this plant. So, how do you decide if it’s right for you? There are mainly two points. First, from a nutritional point of view, it is best to choose those with a relatively balanced content of various elements. Second, fertilizer applied from the roots will be more effective. This is because there is a layer of film on the surface of its leaves. If it is only applied on the leaves, the effect will be very limited.

2. Frequency of use

(1) Spring and autumn are similar, with a fertilization cycle of four or five days. That means about once every four or five days.

(2) In the summer when the weather is hot, it needs to be done once every three or four days. Liquid fertilizer can be used and can be combined with watering.

(3) In winter, demand is low and the intervals between deliveries are longer. So, generally speaking, once every six to eight days. At this time, you can also use liquid.

3. Other matters needing attention

(1) The timing of fertilization is also important. Generally speaking, the time period from 8 am to 5 pm is most suitable. However, if it is winter or early spring, it can be adjusted from 9 am to 4 pm.

(2) Needless to say, you must also pay attention to the concentration and not make it too high.

(3) Two hours after using fertilizer, you need to spray some water to wash away the fertilizer water remaining on the leaves.
