How to grow succulents in summer

How to grow succulents in summer

1. Spring, Autumn and Winter Types

1. Cooling

The temperature is higher in summer. If spring, autumn and winter type succulents are kept in a high temperature environment for a long time, their roots will become stuffy and prone to root rot. At this time, you can place the succulents on a small table and place a small fan next to them to blow and lower the temperature. If you have air conditioning, you can move it indoors and let it cool down. But be careful not to let it be blown directly by the air conditioner.

2. Ventilation

Be sure to pay attention to ventilation in summer, otherwise the succulents will easily become black and rot, and they will also be easily attracted by scale insects. You should open the windows frequently to allow the succulents to be exposed to the natural breeze from outside.

3. Sunshade

If succulents are placed on a south balcony or south windowsill, they need to be shaded. You can buy a double-layer shade net to block out most of the sunlight. It is best to move it indoors and place it in a well-ventilated place with scattered light, so that it can spend the summer safely.

2. Summer type

1. Get more sun

Summer-type succulents grow faster in summer, so it is best to place them on the south balcony and get more sun. However, the temperature is too high at noon, so it needs shade for two to three hours to prevent excessive light from burning its leaves.

2. Water more

Water once every 3-5 days to keep the soil moist. Watering can be done in the morning and evening, but not at noon when the sun is too strong.

3. Appropriate fertilization

A little fertilizer will make it grow more vigorously. You can choose slow-release fertilizer granules for succulents or leftover bones at home, crush them, dig a small hole beside the pot, and bury them.
