How to repot a money tree

How to repot a money tree

1. When do you need to change the pot?

Repotting is a very important part of money tree care. The soil will inevitably clump after being used for a long time. If it is not replaced, it will easily affect the growth of the plants. Therefore, when you observe that the soil in the pot turns white or has severe clumps, it means that its fertility has decreased and you need to change the pot. Generally speaking, the pot should be changed every one or two years.

2. Specific steps for repotting

(1) The first step is to remove the flower from the pot. However, if the soil is very wet, be sure to let it dry before removing it from the pot. Otherwise, the roots will easily rot. After taking it out, the roots need to be trimmed. The main task is to cut off rotten and old roots. For those roots that are too dense or too long, you can prune them as appropriate.

(2) Prepare new flower pots and soil. If the plant grows bigger, you need to change to a larger pot. If the original pot is still suitable, there is no need to change it. As for the soil, you need to choose soil that is rich in humus, loose, and slightly acidic.

(3) Then, place the plant in a pot and fill it with the prepared soil.

(4) Do not water the plant immediately after repotting. Place it in a cool, ventilated place first. Wait until the wound is basically dry before watering it thoroughly, usually after twelve hours.

(5) After three to five days, the specimen can be exposed to diffuse light. However, do not apply fertilizer within half a month.
